Stop helping your children. Let them wash the dishes. Let them clean up the spilled milk. They do it the wrong way, they make it messier, but just let it be.
"Let me tie your shoes."
"Let me zip your jacket."
"Let me clean up your mess."
"Let me do your puzzle."
Stop it.
Because one day, and you don't know when, you will be gone. You will be old and weak. Your children will grow up and build their own lives. There will be a day they have to do all things by themselves and none is there to help them. Stop being a safe net for them.
Take a step back. Little by little. They can handle it. Your job is to prepare your children to live without you.
